Sustainability
We have had the opportunity to look at the road ahead and implement positive changes to our services not only for our customers, but the world.
We all have a corporate responsibility to create a sustainable future and by using Heuvel, you can be safe in the knowledge that you are doing your part. We want to change the future of digital technology and that change starts now.
100% Renewable Energy Infrastructure
The digital world contributes to 3% of global electricity consumption and 2.8% off global carbon emissions, that which rivals the airline industry.
As part of our digital sustainability commitment, all of our servers are not only based in the UK, but are powered by 100% renewable electricity from sources like the sun, wind and sea.
Make a conscious buying choice for your business and switch to renewable energy for your digital infrastructure.
Try our carbon emissions calculator
Each website is stored on a server which consumes an enormous amount of power. If your servers are not sustainable, you could be emitting tonnes of Carbon Emissions into the atmosphere unknowingly. Swapping profits for plants
Our Projects=Trees initiative to help build a sustainable future and change the way the digital sector thinks. For each project we deliver, renewal on hosting or creative brief we execute, a percentage of the total cost is used to plant trees on behalf of our customers. By working with us, you help reduce CO2 emissions while providing co-benefits such as water filtration, shelter, food sources, poverty alleviation and biodiversity.

• Reduce your businesses carbon footprint
Reduced carbon footprint
Like most businesses, during the pandemic in 2020 and 2021 an opportunity presented itself to work from home. To manage this transition we implemented new project management systems and renewable energy infrastructure to support our team.
Because of these new working conditions, online meetings became the new normal and now more than 50% of our meetings are still conducted online. All of this reduces commuting and reduces our carbon footprint on the world.
Conscious buying choices
Our service and product rely on the tools of our trade. The machines we buy for our staff have a lighter environmental footprint than others within the market.
In our most recent equipment upgrade, we wanted to make sure we could be as close to net carbon zero as possible. Not only are the enclosures of our computers made with low-carbon aluminium, but they also use recycled plastic, recycled tin and recycled rare earth elements.
Waste reduction
Reducing the waste we produce is essential. We don’t have any paper-based exercises within our business. All project management, communication, invoicing and accounting are completely paperless.
We have also not only reduced the amount of print we purchase on behalf of our customers, but all of our marketing communication is digital – we even rely on digital business cards.
